Description
Chateau  D' Escurac Rouge 2016, Cru Bourgeois Medoc
$280/btl
Region: Medoc, Bordeaux, France
Grape Varieties: 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 59% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc
Vinification:  Soil composed of gravel and clay.  Ageing 12 to 15 months in barrels
Tasting Notes:
Deep purple with licorice , dark red fruits at the front of the perfume. The palate is silky with a ton of sweet black fruit and spices. Nice concentrated pure body with grilled notes, good freshness on the finish, hints of delicate new oak.
This sublime wine will age very well as we experienced with the 2005 and the 2009.
Will be ready to drink nicely  from 2024 - 2028.

Winery Story
In its 11th century chapel, Château d’Escurac has kept traces of a long winemaking history. The winery is now classified as Cru Bourgeois for its superb quality. The vineyard lies on one of the highest crests in the Médoc, overlooking the whole area. The character of the soil shows a high proportion of deep gravel, planted to the main Médoc grapes.Under the watchful eye of the Landureau family, the most up-to-date winemaking techniquesfollowed by traditional barrel ageing produce wines with finesse, bouquet and distinction.
