Exemplary aromas of a fine merlot blend: dark chocolate, raisins, kirsch, plums and ripe cherries, along with hints of cloves and truffles. Full-bodied with velvety tannins.

Winery Story

Château Fongaban is a wine estate owned by the TAIX family since 1940. From 8.5 hectares in 1940, the surface area has increased to 42 hectares currently following a policy of purchasing and planting sunny plateaus and frost-free land.rnLocated in the commune of Puisseguin, the majority of the estate is in the former commune of Monbadon, which was attached to Puisseguin in 1988.rnEdouard FERRET mentioned in the Monbadon section its very uneven soil generally offers a strong clay-limestone soil on a stony or rocky base. The red wines have a lot of color, body and a fairly pronounced bouquet.
They also have analogies with the wines of Saint-Emilion.rnThe same work cited Château Fongaban among the main owners.
